Artist statement

The sea, the sky, and the elements, fishing boats, marine scenes, and landscapes. All of these are part of my environment.

I am inspired by my passion for the sea. I love painting in oils, but also find watercolours, acrylics & oil pastels very satisfying. It depends on the mood of the elements surrounding the subject.

One of my favourites is painting pet portraits and active figure portraits. These are done on a commission basis, always in oils and usually from photographs.

Bio Info

My art education began in my childhood. My mother was a prolific artist and constantly engaged me in her visual frame of reference. Later, I enrolled in many drawing, sculpting, pottery and painting classes at the extension department of NSCAD. Workshops were also

a part of my art world. I have been steady in my pursuit of art knowledge throughout my life. Now I'm retired and enjoy painting on a daily basis.

As an active member of the Aspotogan Arts and Crafts Association, I am exposed to a group of very sharing artists who are forever finding inspiration through exposure to new methods and techniques.

It is a very inspiring place to be.
