Peggy's Cove Area Festival of the Arts 2012
To be held from July 12 to 22, 2012. July 21 and 22 will be the Open Studio
Tour weekend where a number of AA&C art studios will be participating including
the Ocean Swells Community Centre in Nth West Cove which will become a gallery
for AA&C artists.

Biography:
For over thirty years, Sharon has
been instructing art in one form or another to all age groups. While
a teacher in a private school in the Annapolis Valley, she developed
an art program that allowed her to share her love of art with her
students. As Art Department Head, she taught the fine art high
school curriculum as well as the middle school program. The
philosophy that she carries to all her classes is to not only teach
the skills to advance the abilities of the students, but most
importantly use art to help raise their self-esteem.
The summer of 2006 took Sharon to The Gambia, Africa where she enjoyed
sharing her skills with children of limited art instruction. The
experience compelled her to venture out to pursue her own work and
style. She enjoys working with watercolours, acrylics, but mostly
oil.
Her love of traveling took her to the USA where she became a certified Bob
Ross Instructor in the wet on wet oil technique . She now teaches
daylong workshops as well as tutorials in this technique.
Sharon now resides in Chester and when she isn’t teaching students of all
ages or doing commissions, she combines the beautiful south shore
scenery with still-life of the local boating community. |
