About the Aspotogan Arts and Crafts
The Aspotogan Arts & Crafts are a non-profit volunteer group formed in the year 2000 with the goal of exploring professional development, promotion and exhibition possibilities, and mutual support for artists working in the Aspotogan area of Nova Scotia. Our members work in a wide variety of arts and crafts including painting, rug hooking, wood working, sculpture, fibre arts, pottery and photography.
The group has grown steadily over the last 20+ years as new members join and discover a welcoming and vibrant arts community. Aspotogan Arts & Crafts organizes annual shows that attract a growing number of visitors, and participates in several art exhibitions and events in the greater community. The Aspotogan area has become a destination of choice for artists, the spectacular natural beauty of the area being complemented by its wealth of artistic activity.

Visit the Aspotogan Peninsula
Explore the heritage and natural beauty of the Aspotogan Peninsula, bordered by St Margaret's Bay on one side, and Mahone Bay on the other. "Aspotogan" is Mi'kmaq from Ashmutogun or Ukpudeskakun meaning "block the passage way" or "where the seals go in and out". The scenic Lighthouse tourist route (Highway 32), runs around the Peninsula, providing visitors with wonderful vistas of sandy beaches, scenic fishing villages and distant islands. Given the beauty of the surroundings and the clarity of the light, it is no wonder that artists flock here from far and wide! To learn more about this gorgeous area, click here.
Visit Our Artists Studios
Many of our members work from studios that are open to the public, either year-round, by chance, or by appointment - look for Opening Hours under their bios. Artists without open studios regularly sell their work at the local Hubbards Farmer's and Crafter's Market from May to October, and at locally hosted events organized by the AAC throughout the year.
We meet: last Monday of each Month, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
