Membership information

The Aspotogan Arts and Crafts is an all-inclusive artist group, welcoming both beginners and professional  artists, open to all residents of the St Margaret's Bay and Mahone Bay areas. Membership currently costs $25 and runs October 1st to September 30th.  Member benefits include opportunities to exhibit and sell paintings in our well-attended annual Spring Show and Sale events  in May; promotion of artwork via your individual "artist gallery" on the AAC website.

Working together

The Aspotogan Arts and Crafts is a non-profit volunteer organization and each member is asked to take an active role on committees and in activities, to help keep the group up and running. We do our best to match volunteers skills and level of comfort with the tasks at hand. Jobs may include helping with displays, organizing the Christmas Party,  distributing promotional material, or working with the Committee Executives on the Annual May Show as well as becoming Board members and taking on Director or Executive positions.

Joining the Aspotogan Arts and Crafts Organization

If you are interested in joining the Aspotogan Arts and Crafts group, please either get in touch with our membership coordinator Deborah Fleming; download and complete the Membership form below; or visit one of our monthly open studios to help decide if the group is for you.  Our open studios are held at Ocean Swells Community Centre, 2726 Highway 329, in Northwest Cove, from 10am-4pm, the last Monday of every month, between September and June, excluding December.

Open Studio at Ocean Swells Community Centre

Monthly open studios are held on the last Monday of every month (except for July, August & December) during which members and “drop-in visitors” can network, work on their art and discuss art-related topics. Membership meetings may be held to discuss the business of the Society, committees may meet for planning events, and a workshop or a guest speaker may be offered. These monthly studio sessions are a great way to meet other artists and find out how to participate in the activities happening in our organization.
