Jan Shilletto (Acrylic, Oil Stick and Graphite)
The process itself of making art, rather than the end product, is to me the essence of painting. When I can bring my attention to experiences occurring in the present moment I am open to the unknown and to self-discovery. Painting in this way drops me from a space in my head to a space of my heart.
This is the progression from sitting on a step drawing a dragger, through to the painting. (Images 1 through 4.)
The beach provided the subject, a bench to sit on and a board to paint on for this painting. (Images 5 through 7.)
