Mary-Leslie Pelham (Acrylic, Oil and Watercolour)
My dear mother, Jessie Moira Power was a very prolific artist. During my young life, my mother taught me to visualize with an artists frame of reference. I sat next to her whle she did her paintings and talked to me about art. Her library was extensive and we often delved into it so she could be more explicit.
My interest in art was strong. As I raised my own family, I attended NSCAD through evening extention classes in drawing, pottery, sculpting and painting. Workshops were ideal for my situation and so I continued to learn.
I am now retired and live close to my passions, the sea, the sky and the elements. As a member of the Aspotogan Arts & Crafts Association, I am now part of a very enthused group of artists that share their knowledge through painting groups and workshops with members. This is a most inspiring place to be.
