MJ Cavicchi
Mj (Maryjean) Cavicchi was born and raised in beautiful Nova Scotia and came to painting after a lengthy and varied career in the education field, and after her beloved horses were gone from her daily life. Needing a new passion, she discovered the world of watercolours, thanks to her mentor, J’Anna Jacqulyn. The lightness and transparency of watercolour is what attracts her to this medium and she attempts to reflect these elements in her work. Mj is inspired by the remarkable beauty of the province, from rugged coastlines, the ever changing ocean, to the pastoral scenes of the valley. Her various perennial gardens also provide inspiration for her paintings.
More recently, Mj has been venturing into the realm of acrylic painting and has discovered this to be an exciting medium to explore.
As well as being a member of the Crossroads Artists, Mj paints with the Aspotogan Arts and Crafts Association and is a member of the Peggy’s Cove Festival of the Arts Studio Tour.
