Susan Publicover Lord (Fibre & Mixed Media)
Susan lives in Blandford and is a retired system analyst from Bell Aliant. When she joined AA&C she was working solely in fibre creating small hooked rugs. All of her hooked mats are her own design, often inspired by her photography images, and she has done several commissioned pieces. Her love of fibre arts led her to a needle felting workshop in 2009 and from there she discovered 3-dimensional needle felting. She has been creating her unique felted birds on driftwood since then.
Susan is interested in creating mixed media artwork using image transfer and collage techniques. Her artwork is continually evolving as she explores new ways to express her creativity, often incorporating found objects into her work. She is currently trying her hand at paper collage artwork and rust printing, as well as studying the craft of astrology.
Susan also makes beach glass earrings, pendants and brooches. She loves photography and uses her own images in her designs.
She has been member of the Aspotogan Arts and Crafts group since 2004 and is their current Treasurer as well as Treasurer for the St. Barnabas Ladies Guild. She is a volunteer at the Hooked Rug Museum of North America in Queensland and an active member of the Heritage Handwork group in Blandford,
