Yvonne Rowell (Watercolour)
Yvonne Rowell began studying the art of watercolor painting upon retirement. She took lessons from Moncton artist, Joan Gregory for 4 years. She continues to take art seminars from artists in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI.
Yvonne grew up on the South Shore of Nova Scotia and scenes of Nova Scotia, particularly of a nautical nature, are the inspiration for most of her paintings. Her paintings are primarily of a realistic nature, but she also experiments with semiabstract subjects. She and her husband spend five months a year at the family homestead in Fox Point, the rest of the year travelling or at their home in Moncton.
She is a member of the Aspotogan Arts & Crafts Association in Nova Scotia, the Riverview Art Council in New Brunswick and the Sackville Art Association in New Brunswick. She participates in art shows with each group on a regular basis.
